Our beef

5 questions

What does 100% grass-fed actually mean for your beef?

Our cattle eat only natural pasture throughout their entire life, including the finishing stage before slaughter. Never grain, corn, soy, or silage.

In many markets the grass-fed label permits grain-finishing. Tekorá is grass-finished, pasture start to finish. That preserves the omega-3, CLA, and vitamin profile of real grass-raised beef.

How is this different from supermarket beef?

We raise without hormones, without routine antibiotics, without feedlot, and we publish every stage. Supermarket beef rarely discloses those things.

See /en/why-our-meat for the full breakdown of 25 practices we choose not to use.

Can I trace my cut back to the animal?

Yes. Every package carries a lot code tied to the animal and the ranch. Ask us and we'll tell you.

See /en/traceability for the full chain-of-custody detail.

What breed of cattle is this?

Braford and adapted crosses suited to the Paraguayan climate, raised on rotational pasture.

Braford is a Brahman-Hereford cross, heat-resistant and well-suited to the open-range management of the Chaco.

Are you certified organic?

Not currently. Certification in Paraguay is costly and complex; we prioritize published operational transparency instead. We'll pursue the seal later.

Ordering & delivery

6 questions

What areas do you deliver to?

Asunción metro: Asunción, Lambaré, Luque, San Lorenzo, Fernando de la Mora, Mariano Roque Alonso, Villa Elisa, and Ñemby.

Outside that zone we don't currently operate. If you're close to one of these cities, message us on WhatsApp.

How do I place an order?

Message us on WhatsApp via the site button, or use the contact form and we'll respond within 24 business hours.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer and cash on delivery. We confirm available methods when coordinating your order.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes. Currently Gs. 150,000 (~$21). Orders of Gs. 300,000 or more (~$42) ship free.

How long until my order arrives?

Typically 24 to 48 hours from confirmation, in a delivery window we coordinate with you.

How do you guarantee cold chain?

Meat travels in a sealed insulated cooler with ice packs. If a package arrives warm or unsealed, tell us within 2 hours and we fix it.

Cooking & storage

4 questions

How long does the meat last in the fridge?

Vacuum-sealed at 0–4°C: 7 to 14 days from delivery depending on cut. Opened: 3–4 days maximum.

Can I freeze it?

Yes. At –18°C it holds optimal quality for 6–9 months. Always thaw in the fridge, never at room temperature.

How should I cook grass-fed beef?

Grass-fed cooks faster than feedlot beef. Take it out of the fridge 30 min ahead, use lower heat, and target medium or less.

Lower intramuscular fat means well-done cooks dry easily. Use an internal thermometer and let it rest.

What doneness do you recommend for picanha?

Medium to medium-rare (58–62°C internal), rested 5–7 minutes after pulling from heat. The fat cap renders best at that temperature.

Nutrition & health

4 questions

Does grass-fed beef really have more omega-3?

Yes. Omega-6:omega-3 ratio in 100% grass-fed beef is typically 1:1 to 3:1, versus 7:1 to 15:1 in feedlot beef.

Studies in Nutrition Journal and animal-science journals consistently show more favorable profiles in pasture-raised cattle, particularly conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and long-chain omega-3.

What's CLA and why does it matter?

Conjugated linoleic acid is a beneficial fat produced in grass-fed ruminants. Levels are 3–5× higher than in grain-fed beef.

Does it contain declarable allergens?

Beef is not a common allergen, but patients with alpha-gal allergy (tick bite) should consult their doctor.

Can people with high cholesterol eat this?

Consult your nutritionist. Grass-fed beef has a better lipid profile than industrial beef, but individual recommendations are clinical.

About our business

7 questions

Who's behind Tekorá?

A Brazilian rancher with decades in the field and an American expatriate searching for trustworthy food for his family. More at /en/the-ranch.

Why does your beef cost more than supermarket beef?

Raising cattle without shortcuts costs more: more time, more land, fewer animals per hectare, no cheap feed. Our price reflects that real cost, not an arbitrary markup.

We're roughly 20–30% above a neighborhood butcher, and below imported premium brands. See docs/pricing-strategy.md for the analysis.

What happens if my order arrives with a problem?

We guarantee cold chain and satisfaction. Tell us within 2 hours and we replace or refund.

Do you sell to restaurants or retailers?

Yes, with conditions. Message us on WhatsApp to discuss volumes, prices, and delivery frequency.

Do you offer subscriptions or monthly boxes?

They're coming. We're planning Starter, Parrillero, and Family boxes with monthly delivery. Message us to be first in line.

Do you sell half or quarter cow?

Yes, coming soon. It's a more economical way to access our beef if you have a freezer. Message us on WhatsApp for details.

Can I visit the ranch?

Yes, by appointment. We believe in transparency and that our customers should see the origin. Coordinate via WhatsApp.
